NSA Program Leverages Industry Expertise To Assist Government Agencies With Targeted Network Attacks On National Security Systems
Baltimore, MD – Maddrix, a leading provider of incident response services and technology focused on targeted network attacks, announced that it has been accredited by the National Security Agency (NSA) as part of the inaugural class of elite Cyber Incident Response Assistance (CIRA) providers under the NSA’s newly established National Security Cyber Assistance Program (NSCAP).The CIRA accreditation is the first accreditation offered under the NSCAP program.
The NSA NSCAP mission is to address the growing concern regarding targeted network attacks across U.S. government agencies, leverage industry expertise to protect national interests, and develop and maintain an accredited list of highly qualified cyber security providers who owners of National Security Systems (NSS) can call upon for incident response assistance on classified, unclassified, and national security systems.
As part of the accreditation process, Maddrix was evaluated against 21 areas of incident response services including its ability to consistently deliver state-of-the-art services, develop and maintain highly skilled staff, and keep pace with advanced threat actors through training, lessons learned, and shared situational awareness.
“Our extensive experience supporting U.S. government agencies, critical infrastructure, and private sector organizations, combined with our advanced technical solutions including our Endpoint Analytics Security System, facilitated our ability to successfully meet this demanding evaluation criteria.” Said Ron Shaffer, Maddrix chief technology officer.
“In addition to traditional espionage activities, many foreign governments use their intelligence services and military cyber warfare units to conduct large-scale industrial espionage against western private-sector organizations and destructive attacks against critical infrastructure.
The benefits of industrial espionage and destructive attacks far outweigh the risks to these countries, making targeted attacks a long-term strategic problem for the U.S. government, our nation’s critical infrastructure, and private industry. Having a trusted third-party like the NSA evaluate and accredit CIRA vendors helps victim organizations by providing a vetted list of vendors to choose from.” Said Stephen Windsor, Maddrix president.
